Hyderabad: India emerges as the brightest spot in the economic growth story even as the world grapples with uncertainty and many leaders are viewing India with a renewed positive optimism. In this backdrop, global thought leaders and top Indian honchos from different paths of lives have gathered at the World Economic Forum summit at Davos to share ideas and gain insights.
Joining them at the prestigious event is Mr Jayadev Galla, a torch-bearer of sustainability energy and mobility. Amara Raja Group co-founder and chairman Mr Galla not just spoke business but also highlighted the long-standing issues that the globe is facing in the aftermath of the pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.
The World Economic Forum held between January 16 to 20 is a meeting of global leaders across business, government and civil society to connect and exchange ideas on the issues impacting the world.
As part of his four-day visit to Davos, Mr Galla met with a diverse range of leaders, politicians, business delegates, government officials, and civil society members and discussed global issues priorities for the year ahead.
He participated in several roundtables, panel discussions, leaders talk and policy meetings. Mr Galla discussed the ways in which India can attract more investments and exchanged ideas on making India self-reliant with Union Ministers Smriti Irani, Ashwini Vaishnaw, R K Singh, and Dr Mansukh Mandaviya. He also met with Economic Minister of Azerbaijan and Governor of the state of Illinois, USA.
In his meeting with the industry leaders like Bharti Enterprises CEO Sunil Bharti Mittal, Mahindra & Mahindra (Auto & Farm) Executive Director Rajesh Jejurikar, Bharat Forge Deputy MD Amit Kalyani, and Apollo Tyres MD Neeraj Kanwar among others, he spoke on the future course of action, gave an outlook on the industry sentiment and shared his optimism towards India’s growth story. Mr. Galla also met global heads of various companies like Volvo, Siemens, Schneider, Sony, Hitachi, Petronas etc.
While speaking to media, Mr Galla shared that Amara Raja Group will be setting up a Giga Factory for making Lithium-Ion Batteries for electric vehicles. He also outlined that the Group employs over 16,000 people and has set up about 10 manufacturing units across Andhra Pradesh.
Participating in the Electricity Industry Governors meeting, he spoke on the implications of energy crisis for security, climate, affordability and its impact on the pace of energy transition, and he was also part of a roundtable on Building Resilience in Global Electronics and Semiconductor Supply Chain.
“This is my fourth time attending Davos and I have witnessed the profile of India only increase and the latest global challenges has helped India’s profile even more. The supply chain de-risking strategy of many countries towards China has set the right opportunity for India. The way we quickly recovered from Covid has put us on the global investment map and India’s time is right now,” Mr Galla who is MP from Guntur told multiple media outlets at WEF.
